Hello oppos!

So, I have come to the realization after yet another cv axle was about to break on my old ass Honda, that I need a more reliable mode of transportation. I am about to have my current financed vehicle completely paid off, and I will be financing through my bank, and getting around 1-3% apr, so it won't be too bad. Now, the car I have in mind to purchase is the 2014 Mazda6 (i sport with a 6 speed manual, of course), does anyone have any experience with these cars, like, what seems to be the common problems, and things I should look out for? Especially on a test drive?

Window switch placements in all Mazda's suck and have sucked since 1998. They mount them too far forward by about an inch.

I drove both the 6i 6-speed and the Accord Sport 6-speed. I really wanted to like the Mazda better. I currently have a '10 Mazda 3s. However I found the Mazda to be too loud and too slow. Yes it has better feedback than the Honda but not drastically so and if you like rowing your own the 6 speed in the Accord Sport is amazing. I also found the Accord to be more spacious and comfortable. Seriously take the Accord for a spin and see for yourself. I would have bought one but if you want 3 pedals you can only get it in black or grey. :/

You should read this article and then this follow-up from Autoblog. They have a 2014 6 as a long-term car.

Pros:

Excellent gas mileage

Intuitive controls layout

Comfort

Cons

Chassis falters driving at 6/10 or more

Engine lacks power for highway maneuvering if you've got passengers and is generally down on power

Hmm, I will take serious look at the Honda. I do like Accords, but the main reason for looking at the Mazda 6 is because it has 4 doors (will be my DD/family hauler), and it is affordable. (about 25k is my limit) But I will take a look at the Honda, I don't think I'll be able to afford the 6 speed coupe though. Do you know how well an Accord coupe will baby?

As soon as I get a few free minutes, I will check those out and read them. The power doesn't bother me too much, mainly because I'm used to it, my DD before it went down for repairs was an 86 944 N/A. As long as it handles well, with a decent amount of power I am okay with it.

I'm talking about the Accord Sport sedan with the 6 speed. And yes it can be had for under 25k.

The Honda website isn't loading very well for me, so maybe you could tell me, because the Honda sport sedan is about 3,000 more then the Mazda6, I saw it has 189 HP, but that is only 5 more then the Mazda6, what else does it have over the Mazda?

This might help ...and keep in mind incentives are hot right now before Pres weekend. You can probably find a Sport in your area for around 21-22. All I am saying is the Accord is worth the test-drive that way you know if you like the Mazda better.

Hmm, well my friend you definitely have me intrigued. I won't be able to purchase a new car for at least a month though, but I will take one for a test drive. I have a Mazda and Honda dealership right near each other about a mile from my house

Of course finding a car with 3 pedals on the lot can be a challenge. What is your zip code?

Mazda6 6-speed nearby this one is nice, it is a Touring but on sale for 22,463

Here is a close by Accord 6-speed for test drive.

But this Accord is cheaper.

Hmm, not bad at all. And it just so happens you also found the Mazda in the color scheme I wanted, it's like you read my mind. I definitely will check out these this weekend. I've already got a test drive lined up for the 6, I'll check out the Accord as well, thanks man.
